I must say, I really enjoyed Wonder Woman. When I first heard about it and then saw the trailers, i was worried. Worried that it would be like the other two recent DC films that just didn't work out that well. I wasn't so sure I wanted to go see it. But then once I started seeing critic's reviews of it, I knew I had to go. I am glad I did. This was easily the BEST DC movie in recent years, definitely up there with the Dark Knight Trilogy in my opinion.
Gal Gadot does an excellent job portraying both Diana Prince and Wonder Woman. She kicks ass and looks damn good doing it! Being such a fan of Lynda Carter's version of Wonder Woman I was a little iffy on Gal's look and approach of her, but I think she did exceptional. Chris Pine's character was well done as well. I loved getting to know a little about them both and learning their backstories. But the most fun thing to me was seeing them work off of each other. They have true chemistry!
Wonder Woman isn't just a good DC movie (which is amazing in and of itself), but more importantly it is a good FEMALE empowering superhero movie. There's not a lot of those out there and it is nice to see one. But really, it isn't just about empowering women, it is about being a warrior and fighting for what you believe in. That resonates with everyone. I love that.
This film was shot beautifully. Unlike most DC films, it is bright, colorful and happy looking (minus the war scenes for obvious reasons). The CGI is incredible and believable. Paradise Island is gorgeous and truly looks like "paradise". Gal's blue dress is stunning and kick-ass with her sword tucked in the back (: I do recommend you see this movie at some point. It is worth your time.
Overall I give Wonder Woman 4.8/5 Stars
