Top 5 Nickelodeon Live Action Series

KatMarie

I chose to only talk about the shows that I saw enough of to evaluate. i never got to really watch a lot of Nick's shows because truthfully, I was more into Disney's live action content. But I managed to compile a short list of my favorites that the network had to offer. After all, they did have some really great shows during my childhood. Let me also say that All That just didn't do it for me. I couldn't get into it. I figured I had better say that before anyone notices that it is missing from my list. It is such a beloved show, I imagine it would be at the very top of many people's lists. Just not mine.

1. Zoey 101

I could watch this show forever. I felt a connection with Zoey. I LOVED her. Jamie Lynn Spears was great in the role. The rest of the cast was entertaining and fun to watch also. I may have never dealt with most of the things that happened in the show, but I could still find ways to relate. I cared to see if Zoey and Chase would ever get together, and I cared to know how it would all end for everyone. And who didn't like seeing what sort of trouble Logan would get himself into each episode or what invention Quinn would come up with next?

2. Unfabulous

This one had a simple plot. It focused on the life of a middle school girl and the crazy situations she found herself in. Especially crushing on that dreamboat Jake Bahari lol Being a young girl at the time of it's release, it was highly relatable. I especially loved the little songs she'd write about the things she was going through. Even today, I just adore this show. Sometime back, i was watching it again and it took me way back. That's such a great feeling!

3. Drake & Josh

There's not much that I need to say about this one. It was just, perfect. Drake was the ladies man with a guitar (and an incredible voice). He was a dream, and i had the hugest crush on him. I'd say it started when he performed on the Amanda Show before this one began. Josh was nerdy and socially awkward. He was Drake's exact opposite. It was always fun to watch them feud, of course in a loving brotherly way. And even more fun to watch the maniacal Megan torture them both!

4. Kenan & Kel

This one was the Drake & Josh, before Drake & Josh. Only, slightly different. It was the OG and it laid the blueprint out for the later show to happen. Kenan was always hatching schemes and getting himself into messes. Kel was just along for the ride, but he stood out as the goofy ditsy one. The one thing i really need to say about this show is, if you ask anyone from the 90's who loves orange soda. I'll bet you they'll smile and proudly answer with "I do, I do, I do-oooh."

5. iCarly

I watched this one probably the least of the shows on this list. It was slightly past my time. I had kind of quit watching a lot of the Nick live action shows at this point. Because I have brothers who did watch, I saw some of this one. It was fun and fresh. It focused on an internet show, something that was becoming a real thing at that time. That alone was intriguing. But Carly and the gang were always entertaining! I especially liked Sam. Maybe it's because i can relate more to her.. Who knows. Nonetheless, I did enjoy this show far more than many of the others Nick put out.

Honorable Mentions: The Amanda Show, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Big Time Rush

This really really makes me wish Nick would start up a streaming service like Disney is doing. Or, at the very least, make ALL of these available to watch on another streaming service. Right now, only a few of these are available on Hulu.
