Top 15 Holiday Songs

KatMarie

You'll quickly notice that my list is very different than most other people's. I tried to make it that way, but it also kind of happened organically. Sure there's many classics littered throughout the list. How can I not love some of those? But you'll also see some less traditional ones. My soul is both old and nerdy! My music taste reflects that.

1. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas - The Three Stooges

I freaking LOVE the Three Stooges. Though this album is fairly new to me, I am so in love with it, I am so obsessed with this song that I listen to it on repeat about a million times before I finally choose another one. It always puts a big smile on my face.

2. Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt

I don’t know what it is about this gem, but I love it. I sing along loud and proud every time. No, I do not have a Santa Claus fetish lol

3. You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch - Thurl Ravenscroft

How could you not love this one? Any list or playlist that’s missing this one is a bad one. You can’t convince me otherwise.

4. ANY holiday song by Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra

I cant choose. I have such an old soul so I love these guys!

5. Christmas Vacation - Mavis Staples

This is one of (if not actually) my favorite Christmas movie of all time. So naturally, I absolutely love this song. Every time I hear it, I want to put the movie in and have a few good laughs.

6. Christmas With The Joker / Jingle Bells Batman Smells - Shirley Walker ft Mark Hamill

This is a very short little sound bit from that classic Batman The Animated Series episode. I love hearing this one every year! This appeals to the nerdy side of me, whereas a lot of these others appeal to me deep down in my soul.

7. Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms

This is one I just love to sing along to. It’s a feel good holiday gem!

8. Run Rudolph Run - Chuck Berry

As I mentioned earlier, I have an old soul. Chuck Berry is a legend in everything that he does. This song is no exception.

9. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee

This is another one that I just love to sing along to. They use it in so many holiday movies, and I honestly never get tired of it.

10. Thank You Santa - Mitchel Musso (Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation)

I have got to be the only human being on the planet that would put this one on their list lol But I personally really enjoy it. It’s one that even the kiddos can sing along to with you. Plus, I really like Phineas and Ferb, and Mitchel Musso.

11. This Christmas - Donny Hathaway

Here’s another great feel good song that I love.

12. Deck The Hall - Nat King Cole

The same for this one. It’s just a feel good, fun song.

13. Let it Snow! Let is Snow! - Dean Martin

Dean Martin is another artist that appeals to my old soul. This song is a classic!

14. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer- Gary Autry

I’ve only loved this one since forever. It’s usually one of the first Christmas songs we hear as children.

15. Heavy Metal Christmas - Twisted Sister

And of course, I have to include one that makes my heavy metal heart smile! This whole album is actually pretty good, if you like Twisted Sister lol

Honorable Mentions: Spidey-Bells ( A Hero's Lament) - Chris Pine, Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me - Elvis Presley, Any other song on the Three Stooges Christmas album, and Mary Did You Know (no specific artist).
